SURVEY: Has numerical modelling reached a level that makes site investigation and interpretation obsolete for tunnel segment/cross-passage design?
The advancement of various software for tunnel design has the ability to do many things that used to be impossible. Will such high powered rational methods/tools ever be able to replace empirical data? Or, will it make it more useful? Such questions led me to develop this survey, because these are interesting questions.
